Extract Audio from a Video
To extract audio from a video, upload the file below, pick an output format — MP3, WAV, or AAC — and download the standalone audio track a few seconds later.
Interviews shot on a phone, webinar recordings, band rehearsals, voice memos accidentally captured as video: the useful part is often the sound alone. Rather than keeping a bulky video just to hear it, pulling the audio out gives you a light, portable file you can transcribe, edit in an audio app, or listen to on the move.
How it works
- 1
Upload any video file
MP4, MOV, WebM, MKV, and more are accepted, up to 500 MB. The upload goes directly from your browser to encrypted EU storage.
- 2
Pick your audio format
Choose MP3 for everyday listening, WAV for lossless editing, or AAC for Apple-centric libraries. One selection, no other settings to worry about.
- 3
Download the soundtrack
Run the extraction and save the audio file. Feed it to a transcription service, an audio editor, or simply your music player.

Frequently asked questions
Which audio format should I choose?›
MP3 is the safe default — small and playable everywhere. WAV is uncompressed, making it the right choice for audio editing, mastering, or feeding a transcription tool with the cleanest possible signal. AAC compresses slightly better than MP3 at similar quality and sits naturally in Apple apps. When unsure, take MP3.
Can I extract audio from a video with no sound?›
If the video genuinely has no audio track, there is nothing to extract and the job will not produce a useful file — check the original plays sound before uploading. Videos with very quiet audio work fine; the extraction preserves whatever is in the track without altering levels.
How much does audio extraction cost?›
One credit per video, and new accounts receive 3 free credits — so three extractions cost nothing. After the free credits, you can buy a one-time pack on the pricing page. There is no subscription model; credits you buy stay available until used.
Is it safe to upload a confidential meeting recording?›
Files are processed in the EU (Paris), reachable only from your account, and deleted automatically within 24 hours — both the source video and the extracted audio. That said, for material under strict confidentiality agreements, always check your organization policy about third-party processing before uploading.
